On Wednesday 3rd December 2025, Vectis Preceptory No. 237 celebrated its centenary in Cowes on Isle of Wight.

Vectis Preceptory was consecrated in Ryde on Isle of Wight. in 1925 and for a number of year was unattached to a Province. In the 1945 it agreed to attach itself to the Province of Hampshire thus forming the Province of Hampshire and Isle of Wight.

The knights assembled with the Grand Master, Great Marshal and Great Prelate leading the proceedings for Great Priory.

The Eminent Preceptor, Tony Adams, opened the Preceptory following which the Provincial Prior for Hampshire and Isle of Wight, Rt.Em.Kt. Julian Mitchell was received and took the chair. The Provincial Prior was then pleased to receive The Most Eminent & Supreme Grand Master. Paul Raymond Clement OStJ, G.C.T. who took over the chair to start the celebrations.

The Grand Master welcomed the knights assembled and was pleased to make a field promotion to Em.Kt. John Coney to P.Gt.A-de-C. for services to Vectis and Parsifal Preceptories within the Province. The rank being particular poignant as it was the same rank that his father Ralph had held who sadly passed away a few weeks before the meeting.

Bro. and Companion Leslie Graham Kirby was then installed into the Order in an excellent ceremony performed by the Preceptory officers, with the Grand Master doing the Accolade and invested knight Leslie with his regalia.

Em. Kt. Edward Giles read a brief history of the Preceptory, and the Provincial Vice Chancellor read the original Warrant of the Preceptory followed by the Great Prelate presented a stirring Oration covering the occasion of the Preceptory being 100 years old.

The Centenary Warrant was then read by the Provincial Vice Chancellor and the Grand Master presented the Centenary Warrant to the Eminent Preceptor and Knights of the preceptory.

Following the meeting and a reception with warming Mulled Wine, over 65 knights dined to further celebrate the occasion.
